Lip Fillers

Lip fillers are a type of non-surgical cosmetic procedure used to increase the volume and enhance the shape of the lips. They usually involve the injection of a substance, most commonly hyaluronic acid, into the lip tissue.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body that helps increase volume in your lips. The use of this substance is preferred because it is naturally occurring, so it carries less risk of causing an allergic reaction. It's also reversible and temporary, lasting between 6 to 18 months, depending on the specific product used and individual metabolism.

The procedure typically involves numbing the lips with a local anaesthetic cream or injection, followed by the careful injection of the filler. The practitioner may then massage the lips to evenly distribute the filler and reduce any swelling.

The result is fuller, plumper lips and a more defined shape. It can also help to reduce the appearance of fine lines around the mouth, sometimes referred to as 'lipstick lines'.
